There are several things that your child needs to have with them in school to ensure they get the most out of their learning experience with us here at Griffydam.
Your child will need to ensure they have their reading books and reading diary every day at school.
They also need to bring in a water bottle so they can drink whenever they need to. There is access to drinking water all day at school so if needed the bottles can be topped up.
PE kits also need to always be in school. We expect all children to be active every day!
We also ask that children bring in a pair of wellies so that they can access the woodland all year round.
Here at Griffydam, we are very proud of how smart all of our children look.
You can order all branded uniform online directly from our uniform supplier. Enter 'Griffydam' in the 'Find your school uniform' section and then click on the school logo. All our uniform will be displayed and you can pay by card online and have uniform delivered directly to your home for a small charge or to school, free of charge.
We wear a plain white polo shirt, shirt or blouse and navy blue trousers, skirt or shorts.
In the summer, a blue gingham summer dress can be worn.
Socks should be plain (white, black, navy or grey) and shoes should be plain and black.
Jewellery should not be worn. If your child wears earrings, then please only a small simple stud in each lobe.
Hair accessories should be smart and not overly large.
If and when a problem arises, whether it is a problem at home or at school, then please let us know if we can help. We have an open door policy at Griffydam so we will try to make time to speak with you wherever and whenever possible.
Your first port of call should be your child's class teacher.
If you need to book an appointment to speak with your class teacher, you can either speak with them before or after school. You can also ring or email the school where Mrs Blake will be more than happy to pass on your message.
Miss Wills will always make time to speak with parents, so if you would like to talk to her then just let her know.
If you feel that you would like to speak to one of our governors, please contact them via the school office, or via their email address chair@griffydam.leics.sch.uk.
Hot school meals are offered every day at school. This year they cost £2.55 each for children in Key Stage Two. Children in Key Stage One and EYFS are entitled to a free meal each day.
Children of parents who are in receipt of means tested benefits, such as Universal Credit, may be entitled to free school meals. Please ask Mrs Blake for further information or complete this form:

We use 'Eduspot' for all dinner money. If you would like further information about this, please click here.
The Eduspot App is the most convenient and up to date way to pay for school lunches. You can also see your child's menu through the app. We ask all parents to use the app for payments.
